I often work with the quiet desperation that comes from long-term mental suffering. Maybe you’ve been resilient for years, but all the pain has returned from a traumatic childhood; maybe you have recently been diagnosed with autism after years of masking; maybe you survived cancer, are living with chronic illness, or have chronic pain.
